'It's Really Sad' says The White Lotus' Star Sam Nivola On Brothers' Drunken Night Fallout

The 21st century equivalent of the water cooler was shook last week when episode 5 of Max’s The White Lotus aired an episode where a lot of bad decisions were made by a lot of the characters in the current Thailand-set third season.
But nobody was expecting brothers Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) to end up locking lips on a dare during partying with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and fellow Lotus guest Chelsea (Aimie Lou Wood). Speculation about the brothers - at least Lochlan - had started in the first episode of the current season when Lochlan is seen watching his naked brother in their shared hotel room. Last week may have opened a can of worms so it only makes sense that episode six would serve as the fallout.
In Sunday’s episode, we see a shaken Saxon piece together more of the crazy night which included Lochlan having sex with Chloe while, laying nearby, he was also jerking off his brother. Saxon also has more to worry about since Chloe’s boyfriend Gary (Jon Gries) is actually Greg, the wealthy and potentially murderous husband of the now-deceased Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge in the first two seasons of the show), knows there was a wild night on his boat.
During The White Lotus press junket in Bangkok, Thailand last month, I had the chance to sit down with Sam Nivola as well as co-star Sarah Catherine Hook (who plays Ratliff sister, Piper) to ask him about what happened between the brothers and what it means. Nivola knew this part of the longer interview that was posted last week (you can watch it here) would be posted after episode six.
