It’s been a long wait for the ever-important Season 5 of the drama series The Chosen to arrive but patience is a virtue, right?
The fifth season picks up where we left off with Jesus (Jonathan Roumie) and his followers arriving in Jerusalem for Passover week. Even if you aren’t the most knowledgeable about the Bible, you can probably guess that events of that week don’t go well for Jesus.
That said, we also know from the first four seasons of the show, created by Dallas Jenkins who directs all episodes as well as writes with co-writers Ryan Swanson and Tyler Thompson, knows how to tell even the hardest parts of Jesus’s story. And with the season also subtitled “The Last Supper” and from images the show has released from the iconic meal with Jesus and his apostles, what’s coming is monumental in His story.

But, looking back over the first four seasons, so much has happened in the show from Jesus first starting to assemble the chosen ones as His apostles to performing miracles to Jesus facing some of his most powerful critics so a little refresher may be necessary before starting to watch the latest installment.
This video was released when the fifth season episodes began airing in theaters earlier this year but it’s still very helpful as The Chosen Season 5 comes exclusively to Amazon’s Prime Video on Sunday, June 15. How do the episodes roll out?
The first two episodes of Season 5 arrive on Sunday on Prime Video with episodes 3-5 coming on June 22 and the final episodes, 6-8, dropping on June 29. And from someone who has seen all eight episodes already, you’ll want to hold on tight…and probably have tissues nearby.
