If you think each season of the drama series The Chosen is going to get tougher and tougher to watch, you’d probably be right. But in the first four seasons of the series that follows Jesus Christ (Jonathan Roumie) as he builds his ministry, faces foes and eventually will meet his destiny, we’ve seen him hit the highs and lows that come with being the Messiah.

Season five, which launches in theaters in March and then on Amazon Prime Video in June, we pick up where season four left off with Jesus and his followers arriving in Jerusalem and, from the just-release trailer, we know the Last Supper is also a part of the season.

The other big news this past week was the where we’ll be seeing The Chosen as the fifth, sixth and seventh season (its final installment) will air first. Amazon’s Prime Video now holds the exclusive U.S. streaming rights to the series along with another series in the universe, The Chosen in The Wild with Bear Grylls, which was announced last year at ChosenCon. The deal was struck between the streaming giant and series producer 5&2 Studios which will also include the theatrical release for the next two installments.
The series will continue to air on other platforms but will be first seen on Amazon’s Prime Video. For information on buying theatrical tickets to the new season of The Chosen, go here for dates and locations.
Until next time…
