Lessons (and Counting) in Thailand, Cat adventures, Revisiting 'Lost', the 'Mayor of Kingstown finale & more!
Plus, a blast from my past, BL series 'Wandee Goodday' and more in your August recap!
August kept me busy! Here are the highlights:
Working from most recent to earlier, I decided to share the way I ask for more money when a freelance gig is quoted too low. There’s no guarantee but if you ask, it could end up as a win-win for everyone involved.
Freelancing 101: 5 Ways to Ask for More Money
Money is a weird, frustrating and necessary thing. We all need it, we all want it but damn it all if you sometimes have to ask for it especially in the work place or, as I know it, the freelancing world.
How about a rewatch of one of the pilots for the most talked about broadcast dramas ever? I went back and watched the Lost pilot (the entire series is on Netflix) and shared my thoughts.
Fall TV Flashback - Revisiting the 'Lost' Pilot 20 Years Later
For me, the end of summer and arrival of autumn only means one thing - it’s time for Fall TV! Back when TV Guide Magazine was the way everyone got their TV schedules and news, I know I’m not alone in remembering how I’d wait with bated breath for the Fall Preview issue to show up in the mailbox. I mean….look at that face! More on Miso’s adventures and how it’s going getting her closer with our 10-year old resident cat, Mango! (It’s not easy!)
The Adventures of Miso (part 2)

Then we started a new comedy/drama entry we’re enjoying called Wandee Goodday about a boxer and a doctor who fall in love. It stars Sapol Assawamunkong (Great) and Sarin Ronnakiat (Inn) and is sexier than a lot of the younger-skewing dramas. Here’s the trailer:

In the blast from the past category, I first met Jeff Wachtel when I was answering phones in Los Angeles as an executive assistant at Sony in the late 1990s so talking to him again for Emmy Magazine was such a treat. Here we look back on his impressive TV career.

Next, the Paramount+’s drama Mayor of Kingstown delivered big on its third season finale. Only read this post-mortem I did for Variety once you’ve watched since A LOT happened!

I think it would be a good story to bring back that thug that had Kyle's wife, Tracy up against her car. Just saying.
