Let's Do Nothing in Phuket!
So many quick jaunts from Bangkok so we took one for some rest and relaxation!
One of the many benefits of living in Bangkok is the fact that there are two major airports here — Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueng — and they fly pretty much anywhere. So whether it’s the start of a long trek back to the United States/Europe or a quick trip somewhere, it’s easy to get to either aiport, hop a flight and get outta town.
Another benefit is that you don’t have to travel too far from Bangkok. We’ve already ventured to Hua Hin (about 2 1/2 hours by car) and a quick one-hour flight to the north part of Thailand to spend time in Chiang Mai. But we’ve been itching to get back to Phuket since it’s been awhile so we booked a trip there and headed there earlier this month.
On my first visit to Thailand in January, 2020 (just before the pandemic hit), one of our stops was Phuket and we stayed at the Novotel Kamala Beach and we just loved it. The hotel itself is right on the beach and is a lovely, welcoming property with kind and accommodating staff and is the perfect place to go if you just need to unwind.
With this trip, given Boyd and I have both been busy with work and life, we decided to take the ‘let’s do nothing’ route so we could just reset and restore while in a gorgeous setting with some amazing food. Once we arrived, we did venture down the beach for a few walks and for one of our dinners but we also enjoyed just staying close to the hotel and being lazy there. (FYI, if you want a more party-vibe, there are other areas of Phuket like Patong if that’s what you’re wanting).
The following is a video summation of our 2 day trip for our YouTube channel, which has been really fun. I’m still learning a lot about shooting video and using the best resolutions on my Iphone, which is where I’m shooting these videos so excuse any rough spots. (I actually just adjusted the Iphone camera settings to 4K since I noticed some parts of the below video are not as clear when watching on my regular TV as they appear on my actual phone. That’s got to be a settings thing, right? If you know about these things, I’m all for any advice so send me a message or leave in the comments)
Enjoy the above video and check out the other videos and shorts from our recent travels in Thailand and outside of Thailand. We’re definitely enjoying ourselves and glad to share these videos with you.
And, of course, besides subscribing (free or paid) to Coffee, TV & Me, be sure to also subscribe for free to our YouTube channel.
Until next time….
