First, a reminder to fill out the Coffee, TV & Me survey posted earlier this week. It won’t take long and can be found right here. (If you tried previously and had a technical issue, the Survey Monkey survey will work.)
If there’s one benefit to the time my husband Boyd and I spent stuck in our West Hollywood home during the COVID pandemic, it was discovering so many people providing great content on the internet, primarily YouTube.
We began doing Yoga With Adriene three times a week with Texas-based Adriene Mishler, who has over 12 million subscribers and is perfect for both beginners and yoga experts. We haven’t stopped and love her 30-day challenges. We also needed to move and burn some calories so we regularly ventured to exercise folks like the Australian-based Team Body Project and Get Fit with Rick.
Then there were the travel vloggers who were helping satisfy our craving for going places, which at the time we were unable to do as the world figured out what was going on with the pandemic. First, you can’t go wrong with Florida-based Renata Pereira, whose engaging smile and personality drew us in instantly as she and her chill husband Gordon travel the globe with invaluable insider travel tips. Also, cheery Brit Paddy Doyle joyously explored every province of Thailand on his motor bike (the first of which he named ‘Dreamy’) and showing the best spots to visit and restaurants and eateries that are musts.
Somewhere along the way in watching these pros who also had everyman qualities about them, I knew Boyd and I could do this. We’d already been talking about moving to Thailand when it was time to retire or maybe sooner (we opted for sooner and relocated to Bangkok last summer), both of us are comfortable on camera and, of course, we love to travel and trying food in various parts of the world.
So we’re excited to announce our Travel with Jim & Boyd channel, which was created to share our adventures not only in Thailand but other destinations we’ve visited recently like Taipei, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and even back to the United States. Our first spot is from our recent trip here in Bangkok to Chinatown (yes, Bangkok has a Chinatown; in fact most Thai people who live in Bangkok have Chinese blood in them including Boyd) for a day of explored some of the great food in the area. The result? This two-minute video, which you can watch for yourself here:
We have plenty of video to edit and post soon so make sure to SUBSCRIBE on the Travel with Jim & Boyd page, let us know what you think and share with friends and family.
Until next time…
